Shamanism in daylight

The medicine men of Siberia were the first to be studied, and the ethnologists then began to use their name, "shamans", to write about the specialists of the inner world encountered between the primitive tribes everywhere in the planet. In Brazil, they are called "pajés". In North America the english word is just medicine men (or women). Sorcerer is another name, generally used with hostility by religious authorities.

Psychology is another name, which touches in a clear and prudent manner a part of the profound mystery hidden into the inner world. The shamans go farther and more profound, ingenuously, but do not know very well how to explain what they are doing, and use references different from ours.

Sereptie's story is a classic example of shamanism, it helps to understand, in a clear manner, what is happening when somebody becomes a shaman. Sereptie was an eskimo, a very ordinary one, when he was suddenly victim of a deadly illness, small-pox. He was agonizing, in a coma state. His consciousness already was on the other side. In the other side, he encountered a red woman. She was smiling, and they became friends. He was lucky, this red woman was the Goddess of variola. She healed Sereptie, who freed himself from the coma, and resurrected. Now he was a shaman, somebody who died and resurrected. He knew the path to the other world, out and home.

We know very well that variola is not a red woman. But an eskimo knows nothing about viruses. What happened is very clear. In the altered state of coma, Sereptie entered in telepathic contact with an alien, not human, intelligence, the intelligence of variola viruses. (He who speaks with plants understands very well what I am writing.) Then for us, intelligence is a human quality : Sereptie's subconscious made a translation, translated this strange encounter into a red woman. After this, when somebody in the tribe was ill of variola, Sereptie called the red woman (entered in telepathic contact with the viruses) and the sick person was healed.
An african suffered the same illness from variola, death and resurrection. His subconscious translated his telepathic encounter with the virus into an "orixa", into the god "Omulu" whose face is hidden behind a mask of straw. Omulu, the god of illness. The story is always the same. A spontaneous shaman is one who, suffering a deadly illness, healed himself. He knows the path to the other world, out and home. He is able to show the secret path. Shamanic initiations always use rituals of death and resurrection, sometime use poison or other psychedelic drugs, causing a partial coma : i.e. an altered state. Such were the Egyptian Mysteries, as well as the Great Greek Mysteries. Plutarque wrote clearly : "Everyone of us, we will know the adepts' secrets in the moment of our death."

The shamans showed us the way to the other side, we are following them. We travel through the astral lanes. Consciously, we go in our subconscious. Karl Gustav Jung called this "active imagination". Robert Desoile spoke of "awakened dream".

We'll come back to the origins and will live shamanic adventures. We'll do that as people of now, people of the beginning of XXI century, understanding what we are doing, without drugs, without violence against our body, without apparent death, in the full light of our consciousness.

In a first stage, we'll go out from our physical body, and we'll perceive that our conscience does not depends on the material world. In fact, we already go out from our body every time we travel through the astral, be it in the night when we dream, be it day dreaming. Who goes out from our body is our conscience, the conscience we are.

To go out from the body is only a matter of des-hypnotizing oneself. Physical sensations are so strong that our conscience is hypnotized into a material vision of the world. Then we just have to relax our muscles, we just have to focus the world of images, and we are out from our body, we are in the other side, in the so called astral world. A relaxation is necessary. We just have to let go, and we are out from our body, in such a natural manner that we do not perceive that we are free from body limitations.

The astral world is an immensity. We can focus our conscience towards the level of causes, towards the level of the energies which condition our life, in order to achieve an Alchemy. But we can travel in the immediate astral, nearer to the material level, and look at what is happening in another country, or in our neighbour's house, or in our physical body or into another's body, or in another planet, or in another galaxy.

Remember, remember.
Remember another Time,
when you walked in the Sunlight.
In the full Light of your awareness,
focus your perception to your energetic body,
your body made of sheer energy, made of Light.
Imagine yourself into a body of Light.
Dream yourself into a body of Light,
feeling the vibration,
the vibration of Light into your hands.
Your hands are shining, your arms are shining.
Your face is shining.
Your whole body is shining of its own Light.
You can feel this well being,
living in your body of Light,
this so agile a body.
The objects around you are shining.
From the things, from the people a Light emanates ,
the Light they are made of,
a silent Light, a tranquil Light.
Feeling the pleasure to be in this
secret and mysterious dimension.
Looking with curiosity, delighted to look.
You move your right arm, made of Light.
You stand up,
floating just a little above the ground,
delighted with the lightness of your body.
Dancing of pleasure.
Going to the door, passing through the closed door,
feeling this feeble resistance of this tissue of wood.
Descending the stairs, floating down the stairs.
Passing through a wall, as if undressing the wall.
Floating to the street,
looking with curiosity to this world
which emanates its own Light.
Going to the left, letting your curiosity be delighted.
You come into your neighbour's house.
With curiosity, feeling, looking.
Memorizing. Looking to the left.
Breathing the smell, the atmosphere of the place.
Sending Light, well being to the place.
Playing, playing to irradiate
your neighbour 's house with a pink Light of happiness.
Impregnating your neighbour's house of music,
tranquility, peace.
You fly, passing over the roof,
focusing your consciousness,
the consciousness you are,
towards another planet,
another civilization in affinity with you.
Dreaming an encounter with somebody there,
in affinity with you.
Letting this person guide you,
show you how she lives,
what she does.
Living with her some days.
Thanking this person,
sending a pink Light of happiness to her.
And you focus your consciousness
towards the planet Earth,
towards this city,
towards this street,
towards this house.
Passing through the wall,
looking at your physical body.
From outside, looking to the face,
to the expression of the face.
Looking at the body with curiosity.

With pleasure, you are coming back
into your physical body,
delighted to come back into your physical body.

Your rational intelligence will consider this adventure as a simple fantasy. Our rational intelligence was trained by the material world, and needs the stability of the material world to function. Common logic can only manipulate solid objects well defined. It does not function very well with fluids in permanent transformations, confound itself like drops of water confound themselves one another. There the logic law of yes and no is no more valid. Mathematicians use a super logic called topology. Common logic, using material references, thinks in terms of solids, and is not competent neither in topology nor in travel outside of mater, out of body. But modern logic is competent and understand.
